But be aware the placement of these bodies did not always happen by accident. The way in which many of these unfortunates met their death was far from accidental. Hearing Martin relate stories - of ritual sacrifice, preservation, and the science behind their modern interpretation, may make you shiver, even on the hottest of summer days. Bog body discoveries provided Seamus Heaney with the inspiration for some of his most famous and evocative poems.
